01:22 pm - Villain's Lair
As it turns out, another project I worked on for PlayStation Home was just released. This is the Villain's Lair Apartment Space. I designed much of the architectural layout, and a lot of that has remained in tact, in one way or another, but what I'm most pleased by is how faithful the "World Domination" game is to what I came up with. Another team did the actual production of the space based on our creative, so we weren't sure what they'd keep or change, but the "Village Griefer" and my game are pretty much verbatim to our designs. This video gives you a tour of the whole space, but you can see "World Domination" in action at about 5:10 in.

And here is the visual I comped together to go along with my design document:

Pretty close, I'd say!

Haha, that's pretty cool.

I didn't realize Home was getting so complex (although I still don't really understand the concept behind Home). :\

The concept is basically promotional, and the idea is that it would generate revue through in-world advertising and micro-transactions. It is becoming more immersive, there's a lot more to do there, and I think as games as an industry move from disc-based to download only I think Sony wants to be prepared to have this complete virtual world that you'd never have to leave to play games and hang out with your friends.
